Welcome to HCS 3010 Workplace Safety Practices!
HCS3010 - Workplace Safety Management has been developed and designed by the Job Safety Skills Society as a credentialed safety course. Students are introduced to essential health and safety principles and practices that enable them to develop the necessary skills and positive attitude for everyday safe and healthy work/life activities... at home, on the job and in their community.
You will learn about workplace safety principles and practices, hazard management, and legislation. This course is a co-requisite for the Registered Apprenticeship Program.
HCS3010 is worth one credit and generally takes students between 17 and 25 hours to complete, though that time varies depending on the student.
The JobSafe Program is designed to:
• Educate youth about workplace health and safety issues,
• Promote the development of a positive attitude toward safety, and
• Give youth a solid foundation for future workplace training.
The JobSafe Program is developed by professionals with first-hand knowledge in health and safety issues, principles and practice.
Students earn one high school credit. Students completing each course and earning a mark of 70 percent or higher will be eligible to receive a JSSS credential.
