Assignment 2: Attending a BlackBoard Session (DESKTOP)

Congratulations! You've made it to your second assignment! 

This next assignment will get you to take TWO screenshots of you being in Blackboard Collaborate. You will send the screenshots in an email using your PRS account (

WHY a screenshot????

Let's face it-- technology is great when it works. BUT, sometimes we have problems that need fixing. Being able to take a screenshot will be a very important skill  if you ever need help troubleshooting any problems you may be having online. It is quite common for your teacher(s) to ask you to take a screenshot of something then send to them. 

Let's break this down into step by step instructions:

Step 1: Click here to quickly peruse what Blackboard Collaborate is.  

Step 2: Click here to follow these instructions to get into and use Blackboard Ultra


PALLISER STUDENTS: enter your first and last name, and which school you go to 

(ex// Sam Smith, County Central)

ADULT STUDENTS: first name, last name, and identify your school 

(ex// Sarah Jones, PBB [or outreach]). 

PARENTS: please identify that you are a parent, first name, last name, and your child's name 

(ex// John Smith, father of Sam Smith)

Step 3: Your FIRST screenshot:

Take a screenshot of you checking your audio and confirming it's working. It should look something like this:

Step 4: Your SECOND screenshot will show you typing a message in the chat box. It should look something like this:


Step 5: If you aren't already, sign in to your gmail account and compose a new email.  

Step 6:  Send an email to your teacher:


Step 7: Write in the Subject box "First and Last Name - Assignment 2". So your subject should read "Sidney Crosby - Assignment 2". 

Step 8: Paste both required screenshots into the Body of your email.


Step 9: Hit send!


Step 10: In this assignment dropbox, at the very bottom of the page click the 'Add Submission' button.  In the Online text box, write "I've emailed you my screenshots", then click the blue Save changes button.


Make sure you've sent the email and left a message in the Online text box in this dropbox. You need to do both!
