1.  β€œThe language you speak, the friends you choose, the clothes you wear, the food you eat, the items you buy, the music you listen to, the leisure activities you choose, and many other actions that you take, all help to express your identity. 
Create a collage of words and images and/or quotations that help to express the various aspects of your personality.  Things to include in your collage – traditions, languages, arts, spiritual or religious aspects, political beliefs, economic philosophy, origin of birth, how you like to dress, interests, etc.  To accompany your display, develop a well written paragraph that details and explains your collage and addresses the following question: To what extend does globalization affect or influence my identity?

2.  Write an β€˜I am’ poem or rap that stresses three or four influential features in your life.  Present your poem/rap creatively alongside pictures/graphics.  Things that you MUST include in your poem/rap – family or ethnic traditions, languages, arts, spiritual or religious aspects, political beliefs, origin of birth, how you like to dress, interests, etc.  To accompany your display, develop a well written paragraph in response to the following question: To what extent does globalization affect my identity?

3.  Refer to the section on the Lubicon Cree (page 32-33) and Lubicon Land.  Create a visual timeline showing the events that have affected the identity of the Lubicon Cree.  For each event, write a phrase or sentence that identifies the connection to the Lubicon Cree.  Finally, in a few paragraphs, discuss whether the effects on the Lubicon Cree have been positive, negative or both.  Be sure to justify your response. Compile your project in an elaborate Word document or power point presentation.

4. In this chapter you read about Aysha Wills who organized a concert to help survivors of the Asian Tsunami.   Choose a project that you believe could make a difference to your community (ie: cleaning up a park, strategies to reduce vandalism, or help others in another country). Provide a proposal and a realistic plan of action that includes all the details necessary to make your project a success.  (A detailed presentation is expected).
