Choose ONE of the following essay topics and write a critical essay that responds to this topic through the lens of the novel you read for this module.

-Please review the notes on thesis writing and essay writing.  Feel free to run the first draft of your thesis by me before you begin your essay.

-Critical essays should be 2-3 pages (typed and double-spaced) and should have quotations from the text (that are properly cited)

Option 1:  What role does emotional courage play when an individual experiences separation?

Option 2:  What does your novel demonstrate about the ways in which individuals respond to the conflict between illusion and reality?

Option 3:  What does this text suggest about an individual’s ability to face hardship?
