Read through the power point on poetry.  Use this as a reference to complete the following assignment.  Read the poem “David” once through from start to finish.  Then read through more carefully in order to find examples of the following poetic/literary devices.

 

When you locate an example of the required poetic device please type out the quotation using the formats outlined in the poetry citation website.

 

Copy and paste the following into a word document.

 

 1.  Find an example of a stanza (it’s probably best to use the shortest one you can find)

 2.  Find two examples from the poem that foreshadow David’s death.

 3.  Find two examples of alliteration.

 4.  Find two examples of personification.

 5.  Find two examples of simile.

 6.  Find one example of metaphor.

 7. Imagery- Find one example of visual imagery.

 8.  Find one example of auditory imagery (sound)

 9.  Find one example of tactile imagery (touch)
