Final Project 1: Letter
Many situations in life will require you to write letters. Think of a recent retail or restaurant experience you have had and compose a well-written, properly formatted letter about a product you purchased or the customer service you received. Employees often receive bonuses as an incentive for creating a positive customer experience. If your experience was negative or if you had trouble with the product, companies interested in retaining your business appreciate constructive criticism and occasionally offer a solution.
- Research company mailing information using the Internet.
- Be creative but also use a business tone in your writing.
- Include all parts of a personal business letter.
- Apply full-block-style layout and formatting to your letter.
- Spell check, proofread, and preview the document to ensure that it is error-free and ready to mail.
- Save your document as “Letter” in your INF1030: WP1: Final Project folder.
Final Project 2: Career Connections Report
At this stage in your life, you may be starting to think about your future and possible career paths you may wish to take. Knowing what you are good at and what you are interested in will go a long way to helping you make career decisions. As you gain more life experience and develop new skills, you will find yourself starting to reassess your career decisions.
Explore self-assessment tools on the ALIS Web site to identify your values, skills, interests, and beliefs and begin making connections to potential career pathways that best suit you. Take some time now to go to http://www.alis.alberta.ca. In the tab for High School Students at the top of the Web site, you will find Career Planning Tools. From the Self-Assessment Tools menu, create an inventory of your personal skills and attributes, and match them with appropriate career options. Spend some time exploring this Web site; there are a number of activities that will guide you on your career path.

In this part of your final assignment, you will create a table of your high school timetable or personal schedule.
