Section 2 Introduction

Do you have a bank account? If so, do you remember your reasons for getting the account?

How do you access and manage your money? Do you go to a bank teller or an automated teller machine (ATM), or do you use the Internet and online banking options? Being able to understand the services and accounts that various financial institutions offer is important to help you make informed personal decisions about money.

In Section 2 you will not complete specific lessons. You will learn about the various options banks offer to access and manage your money through a project called Banking 101.

It is now time to open and complete your Section 2 Project: Banking 101.

Everyone has different banking needs, and banks have a never-ending supply of financial services to meet those needs. In your Section 2 Project: Banking 101, you researched, organized, and gained knowledge on a variety of banking services including the following:

  • online banking
  • chequing and savings accounts
  • ATMs
  • bank tellers
  • Internet banking
  • privacy and security options

Your research helped identify solutions and answers for questions surrounding three different banking scenarios. Hopefully, Banking 101 also helped you think about your personal banking preferences.
