You live in a statistical world. Statistics are presented in many forms. It is important that you have an understanding of the roots of statistical thinking. With this understanding you will become a critical observer of data presented to you. You will also be able to make informed decisions in the workplace and in everyday living.

In this module you will focus on how statistics can be used to help make decisions. To do this, you will explore the lessons and questions in the table.

Collecting and recycling used materials is becoming more important as natural resources become more and more depleted and landfills start to overflow with excessive garbage. As you complete the project for this module, you will explore the recycling of used beverage containers, their impact on the environment, and the monetary refund consumers are given after taking their recycling collections to the bottle depot.

You will be prompted to complete Module 4 Project: Recycling Used Beverage Containers as you work through the lessons. You might want to skip forward to the Module 4 Project for a sneak peek now.
