You have researched and formatted the content in your slides and you have added graphics to help get your message across to your audience. Now it is time to customize your slides to really wow your audience with colour, links, and special effects. Doing this will make your presentation stand out and will create a memorable experience for your audience.
What will I learn in Training Room 4?
In Training Room 4 you will learn how to customize slides, link content, and add special effects. Specifically, you will
- create master slides
- customize backgrounds
- add and link existing content to a presentation
- insert media clips
- add animations and transitions to slides
The estimated completion time for Training Room 4 and Time to Practise 4 is three hours.
How can I improve my learning?
To really grasp what you are learning, you can
- read and watch demonstrations in Microsoft PowerPoint 2007 to discover how to work with visual content in a presentation
- use the Office Online Help and How-to website should you require additional instruction or software assistance
- complete all practice activities to learn the software

Remember to complete all of Training Room 4, including all readings and practice activities, before starting Time to Practise 4.

Instructions
Now customize and add life to your Career Connections presentation by adding links, animations and transitions, and media clips.
Step 1: Open your Career Connections slide show (named careers.pptx).
Step 2: Apply the following:
- a footer on all pages with the date, your name, and slide number
- a background
- a hyperlink
- an action button
- sounds and at least one movie
- animations and transitions to slides
Remember to save your changes as you work and when you are done.

Your Career Connections slide show should now include formatted text, visual content, and customized slides with backgrounds, links, and media clips.
Once you are finished Time to Practise 4 and have saved your work, talk with your teacher regarding assessment.
Retrieve the Software Skills Checklist that you saved to your computer. Check off the skills you have learned in this training room and that you are confident in demonstrating. Don’t forget to resave your Checklist.
If needed, revisit Training Room 4 to review any of the skills in which you had difficulties. If you are comfortable demonstrating the skills presented in this training room, continue to Training Room 5.
