Introduction

Welcome to Grade 10-1 Social Studies!
It is a pleasure to be teaching you and I look forward to getting to know you better as the semester progresses.
This course is centered around the main concept of Globalization. To begin this study, it is important to understand that individuals and groups of people express their identities in various ways.  With today’s connected world, people are exposed to other groups, cultures, ideas, belief systems and world views.  Consequently, every individual must respond to the effects of globalization in a way that best defines his or her identity.
