Introduction

Often in history, the progress toward equal rights for all has required outstanding and often remarkable actions by courageous people leading extraordinary events. What we often take for granted is the fact that many of the rights and freedoms we enjoy were fought for by those that came before.

During this lesson, students will appreciate the importance of equality by comparing inequalities of the past to their lives today.
