Conservation in Alberta

Conservation biology is an important field of study to help preserve ecosystems. Conservation efforts range from simple monitoring programs to more elaborate efforts as described below.

Burrowing Owl

Pest control is an important component of conserving native species. Knapweed, Canada thistle, and ox-eye daisy are just a few of the invasive weeds that threaten natural grasslands.
