Make a list of five or six characteristics of a “stereotypical” person from your chosen country. Examples for an American person could be:
- Drinks Coke
- Goes to baseball games
- Watches CNN
For a Canadian, it might be:
- Drinks coffee and eats Timbits
- Goes to hockey games
- Watches CBC
What makes something a stereotype? Can stereotypes be positive or neutral, or are they always negative?
