Simon Says is a popular children’s game. The object of this game is to give children simple directions using the phrase “Simon says.” When you say “Simon says” at the start of your direction, the children are supposed to follow the direction. When you do not say “Simon says” at the start of the direction, the children are supposed to ignore your direction.
This is a great activity to encourage children to use their motor skills. Here are some sample directions, with and without “Simon says” at the front:
This activity can last as long as the children are interested, and they can take turns giving the directions. Child care providers should not focus on children who play the game incorrectly.
