LEARNING ACTIVITY 1: PROMOTING POSITIVE SELF-ESTEEM
 
Scenario 1
 

Brandon is almost three-and-a-half years old. He is just learning to do up the zipper on his jacket. The children at the child care centre are getting ready to go outside. Brandon is trying very hard to do up the zipper on his coat. All of the other children are ready to go outside, but Brandon is still working on his zipper. Caroline, his child care provider, waits patiently, looking for signs of frustration. When Brandon finally gets his zipper done up, Caroline smiles at him and says, “That’s great, Brandon. You can do your coat up all by yourself.”
