Please note: This is merely a guide to direct you in your studies, but it does not cover all information that is pertinent to the exam. In order to prepare thoroughly for the unit exam, please refer to your notes, tutorial archives, textbook readings and resource links.

10 Multiple Choice questions (10)
1 Source analysis/position paper with the following guidelines (40):

Plan your essay
Establish a position
Support it with solid reasons and real evidence/examples
Organize your response
Proofread and edit your writing

Source Analysis Guideline (will be included in exam)

1) identify the main issue being discussed

2) analyze source #1 and demonstrate your understanding of the perspective(s) reflected in it

3) analyze source #2 and demonstrate your understanding of the perspective(s) reflected in it

4) analyze source #3 and demonstrate your understanding of the perspective(s) reflected in it

5) Outline the similarities and differences between the sources.  Then, establish and argue a position in response to the question above

6) support your position and arguments by providing evidence from your knowledge and understandings of social studies

Three scoring categories are used to mark the content

1) Analysis of Sources (12 marks)

2) Quality of Arguments (14 marks)

3) Quality of Evidence (14 marks)
