Mathematics 30-2 Learn EveryWare Summary

 

In Mathematics 30-2 you were encouraged to discover and explore mathematical concepts to help develop your own knowledge in mathematics. As you worked through the course, you were asked to make connections between mathematics and different contexts.

You determined how reasoning, set theory, and graphic organizers can be used to analyze and solve games, puzzles, and problems in Module 1.

 

Then you discovered how the ability to interpret, assess, and solve probability problems can help to win games in Module 2.

 

You examined how counting methods are used to solve problems involving codes and passwords in Module 3.

 

In Module 4 you examined how polynomial functions can be related to shapes in our environment.

 

You applied your learning of rational expressions to model situations related to competition and co-operative games in Module 5.

 

You studied how sinusoidal functions can be applied to cyclical phenomena in the natural environment in Module 6.

 

You studied how growth and decay occur in daily life and how this increase and decrease is related to exponents and logarithms in Module 7.

 

You related mathematics to current events and areas of interest by doing a research project in Module 8.

You worked though concepts related to the general outcomes of logical reasoning, probability and relations, and functions. You explored different ways to solve problems involving the concepts studied. You used different mathematical processes such as communication, connections, mental mathematics and estimation, problem solving, reasoning, technology, and visualization to work your way through the course.
