Taking Action on Expressing Identity in a Globalizing World (___/10)

This activity is designed to challenge you to explore and participate in diverse acts of citizenship. You will be using the ONE collective you researched in Section 3 Lesson 3 - Promotion of Culture and Language to answer the following questions. 

1. Investigate how a collective is coping with the opportunities and challenges to expressing their collective identity in a globalizing world.  In addition to the collectives explored, what other collectives can be investigated? 

2. Select a collective identity that is struggling with the opportunities and challenges of expressing a collective identity in a globalizing world.  Identify a new strategy that would promote their collective identity. Using your new knowledge, suggest new ways. 

Think of this assignment as a mini-essay. The following will need to be included in your write-up: 

1) Short introduction to the collective you researched in Section 3 Lesson 3 - Promotion of Culture and Language. 

2) One paragraph answering each of the questions above. What is the collective doing right? What can the collective do better? 

3) A concluding paragraph stating if the collective is successful and why or why not. 

In the end, your assignment would be 4 paragraphs long, typed, and double spaced in length.
