Youth Forum Opening Statement

Create an opening statement. Your challenge is to defend the degree to which globalization should be embraced or resisted in the context of sustainable prosperity and the impacts on the environment.

A scheduled youth forum on Globalization and Sustainable Prosperity for an Environment Symposium is planned for your community. Create an opening statement for the forum.

• Use communication technologies recommended by your teacher or chosen by you.

• The opening statement must be a minimum of three minutes or 750 words in length.

• You must include narration or text in your statement. Images and other media may support your opening statement but are not included in the minimum length or word count.

Here are possible positions you may consider:

• Embrace globalization as the key to environmental sustainability.

• Resist the environmental dangers inherent in the process of globalization.

• There are aspects of globalization that should be embraced and other aspects that should be approached with caution or rejected.
