7.3 Novel Theme

Here it is. The final, culminating assignment of the course. This essay reflects your learning and growth of your reading and your writing skills. This assignment encompasses many of the objectives of the English 10-1 curriculum, including the application of critical thinking skills, as well as the application of the skills you learned around active reading, planning, organization of ideas, supporting evidence, and editing.

 I have high expectations of you: I expect that you have gone through the writing process; that you have edited for basic grammar, spelling, and mechanics. That you have incorporated specific details and support from your novel; and, that you have analyzed a character's transformation and not simply summarized the plot.

In this step of the writing process, the final draft, you will apply the feedback given on your rough draft and compose a final draft of your critical response.
