Completion requirements
In this assignment, you will think about symbols that stand for concepts and you will design a symbol of your own.
You may use a computer or paper to complete this assignment.
1. You can type your work directly into the assignment box on the next page by clicking the "add submission" button under the orange box at the bottom of this page.
2. If you typed your work in a separate Word document, save your document, and either send it to your teacher as an e-mail attachment or print it off and hand it in to your teacher so it can be marked.
3. You can also choose to complete a hand-written assignment on a piece of paper. If so, please hand in your assignment to your teacher so it can be marked.
For Question #2:
1. Draw and label your symbols on a piece of plain paper or choose pictures from magazines to cut out and glue onto paper. Hand it in to your teacher for marking.
2. Use the computer to draw your symbol or to copy and paste pictures for your symbol, then save your document, and either send it to your teacher as an e-mail attachment or print it off and hand it in to your teacher so it can be marked.

1. Identify one symbol that is sometimes used to stand for each of the following concepts: /5

- peace
- love
- happiness
- wealth
2. Choose one of the following concepts:
- knowledge
- friendship
- success
Design a sign to represent that idea. The "catch" is that you cannot use words; you must use only symbols. /10
