In this assignment, analyze print material for advertising content.
You may use a computer or paper to complete this assignment.

In this assignment, analyze print material for advertising content.
Choose a magazine or newspaper and analyze its advertising content by answering the following:
1. What is the total number of pages in the publication? /1
2. How many advertisements are in the publication? /1
3. Place the advertisements in the categories below. (Try to fill in each category; 1/2 mark for each category) /4
- tools
- electronics
- household products (soap, etc.)
- beauty products
- food or beverages
- medical products
- charitable causes
- other
Then choose one ad in the magazine or newspaper.
4. Identify the technique(s) used to convince readers to buy this product. /2
5. Who is the target audience of this magazine or newspaper? /1
6. Are the ads in the magazine or newspaper appropriate for the targeted audience? Give two reasons for your answer. /4 (2 marks for each reason)
