In this assignment, read the following situations. What might you say to show respect for the person and idea being suggested while still communicating your message effectively?

1. Your employer would like you to work an unscheduled shift. You are not able to work at that particular time. /2

2. A customer wants to buy an item that is not available in your store. /2

3. A new co-worker asks you how to answer the phone at work at a time when you are really busy finishing an important job. /2
