Marking Guide:
Organizing Information!
The previous activity described four methods to organize research notes. The one that will work best for your career research report is the Concept Map Method. This method begins with a main idea (or concept)
— in this case, your chosen career. It then branches out to show how your main idea can be broken down into specific topics.

Assignment:
Use the notes you made from the ALIS and AlbertaCareer websites and transfer the important information that you will need for your report onto the concept map organizer. The four areas that you will need to focus on for your report are:
- duties of the job
- working conditions
- personal characteristics
- educational Requirements
You may have also found other interesting information about your chosen career that you want to add to your report. If so, you can just draw in more circles on your concept map and add them in!
Note: You will probably need to use more than one organizer — or at least one for each of the two websites that you visited. If you need more organizers to complete this activity, download more or photocopy for additional copies.
Remember to keep this assignment in a safe place! You will need the information for the next step in your career research project.
