Lesson 14 — Activity 1: Assignment

You have spent time gathering information for a report on a career. Locate your information from Lesson 13 — Activity 3 (the ALIS careers search and the AlbertaCareer.com information) and the concept map organizer you created in Lesson 13 — Activity 4. These assignments will be very useful for this activity.

As you will need to use this for writing your final report, complete the answers below on a separate piece of paper. You can either write them down on a piece of paper or type them into a Word document. Either way, be sure to store your work safely when you have finished.

Click here to access a chart that will help you with this assignment. Print off the chart, and then answer the following questions (using the information from previous assignments that you gathered above) in a sentence or two for each one:

1. (Bun) Introduction: What career have you researched?
2. (Patty) Supporting detail #1: What are the duties of this career?
3. (Lettuce) Supporting detail #2: What are the working conditions you can expect?
4. (Tomato) Supporting detail #3: What personal characteristics are important to do this job?
   
5. (Sauce) Supporting detail #4: What are the educational requirements for this career?  (What courses do you need, and where do you go to school?)
6. (Cheese) Supporting detail #5: What other information did you find out about your chosen career? (E.g., Where in your province could you work in this career? What kind of wage or salary could you expect in this career?)
   
7. (Bun) Conclusion: State the name of your career again and why you have an interest in it.
