Lesson 5 — Activity 1: Assignment
As you know, one way of visually representing an idea is with a collage.
Choose one of the following ideas or themes to illustrate in a collage:

love
- friendship
- choices
- freedom
- a theme of your choice
You may choose to use clip art from the internet, cut out pictures from magazines, or find other materials and glue them onto a piece of paper.
Include a minimum of eight images or objects to represent your theme.
Be certain your theme WORD (e.g. "Friendship") appears on your collage.
Information for Assignment:
You may use a computer or paper to complete this assignment. You can choose one of the following ideas to present yourself:

Create a collage

which is a a piece of art that is made by attaching pieces of different
materials (such as photos, pieces of paper, or fabric) onto paper or
another flat surface.

Create a photo collage on the computer using photos, text, and pictures (e.g., clipart).
*Remember to include your theme word on your collage.
Please do one of the following:
- You can complete your work directly into the assignment box on the next page by clicking the "Add submission" button under the orange box at the bottom of this page.
- If you completed your work in a separate Word document, save your document, and either send it to your teacher as an e-mail attachment or print it off and hand it in to your teacher so it can be graded. You can also attach your document within Moodle. To do this, click on the "Add submission" button below, and then click on "File submissions."
- You can also choose to complete a hand-written assignment on a piece of paper. If so, please hand in your assignment to your teacher so it can be graded.

your work.

Marking Guide:
Your collage will be marked out of a total of 10 marks as follows:
Thought
and Understanding (1 mark per item up to 8 marks)
— marks will be given for each of the eight images or objects you include in your collage. Each
item must clearly illustrate your chosen theme. Eight items must be
included.
Presentation (2 marks) — your theme word should be clearly displayed, and the arrangement of ideas should clearly communicate the message to the viewer.
