Conversation Assessment Unit 1
Completion requirements
Before you call your teacher/marker to complete your conversation assessment, be sure you are comfortable with the vocabulary, the questions, the answers, the expressions and the sentence structures in Unit 1. Be sure you are also comfortable with the pronunciation.
Once you have completed the Conversation Assessment, you will then move on to the Unit 1 Exam.
The Conversation Assessment is done over the phone. You do not need to submit anything on this page.
1. You have to introduce yourself, in Japanese, to your teacher. Tell your name, your age and what grade you're in.
2. The teacher assumes the role of another student. You are meeting for the first time. Have a conversation asking and answering each other questions about one another.
3. The teacher will give you a hypothetical situation. You will respond using the most appropriate expression for that situation.
Example 1: You ask your friend to go to the store for you to buy some groceries because you are too busy to go yourself. What do you say to your friend before he/she goes to the store?
Example 2: You played soccer until 8 pm last night and then you stayed up until 1 am studying for your Japanese test. Your teacher asks you, "Ogenki desuka." How do you respond?
4. Can you explain about the role of mascots in Japanese society?
