Conversation Assessment Unit 2
Completion requirements
Before you call your teacher/marker to complete your conversation assessment, be sure you are comfortable with the vocabulary, the questions, the answers, the expressions and the sentence structures in Unit 2. Be sure you are also comfortable with the pronunciation.
Once you have completed the Conversation Assessment, you will then move on to the Unit 2 Exam.
The Conversation Assessment is done over the phone. You do not need to submit anything on this page.
1. The teacher asks you questions about what month it is, what day of the week it is, what month famous Canadian holidays are in, etc.
2. The teacher uses the structures "'____' wa nihongo de nan desu ka" and "'____' wa eigo de nan desu ka" and asks you about the months, days of the week and expressions from Unit 2.
3. The teacher gives you hypothetical classroom situations. You say the expression that best fits the situation.
Example: "The wind is blowing into the classroom."
Response: "Mado wo shimete kudasai."
Example: "You don't have anything to write with."
Response: "Enpitsu wo kudasai."
4. The teacher asks you questions using KORE, SORE and ARE. The teacher explains where an object is in relation to the teacher and in relation to your position. You must respond with the correct demonstrative based on the situation.
5. You are asked to speak about (in English) the Japanese school system and life as a Japanese student.
