We've learned that almost every region of Japan has some sort of specialty food (whether it is their own version of a traditional dish or their own specialty dish that isn't made anywhere else in Japan).

In this assignment, you will research and present 5 specialty dishes from different regions of Japan.

For each dish you present, include:

where in Japan it is from
what sort of ingredients are used in the dish
a photo of the food
additional information about the dish

-special ways to eat it, special occasions to eat it, important historical significance, etc.

your personal thoughts on the dish

-why you chose it, have you eaten it before, would you like to try it (why or why not), etc.
-be as detailed as possible in your personal thoughts!

Make sure you write everything in your own words.

You can put your information and your photos into a Word document or into a presentation format of your choice and submit the file into the submission box below.

Make sure to put your photo with the dish you are explaining.

これはおしぼりです。

An おしぼり is a rolled up hand towel that is presented to you before your food arrives. You use it to clean your hands before eating.

In fancier places, it may be presented to you on its own tray. In more casual places, you will receive one wrapped in plastic.

Depending on the season, the おしぼり might be piping hot (to warm your hands) or cool (to refresh you in the humid weather).

Don't use the おしぼり as a napkin!
