Holidays and Festivals Assignment
You will pick THREE cultural events (holidays or festivals) to research and present. (If you pick an event already addressed in this Unit, you must go further into depth than what was already mentioned in the course.)
For each cultural event that you pick, you must include:
For each cultural event that you pick, you must include:
- a minimum of 4 varied photos/videos representing the event (these could be of the event itself, the foods served, people participating, etc)
- when and where does the event take place
- what happens at the event
- why is this event celebrated (include any pertinent historical information)?
-
a personal reflection (What made you pick this event? What did you find interesting, peculiar, etc.? What comments or questions do you have about this event? These are just a few points to consider in your personal reflection.)
Remember that everything must be in your own words.
The format of your presentation is up to you but you must submit a copy of your information in written format (even if you decide to speak in a video).
You can create a presentation using slides, you can create a video or you can put all your information into a Word document. If you have other ideas, check with your teacher/marker first so that there won't be any problems with the submission field below.
If you decide to submit your research in a Word document, make sure you keep the photos with the write-up for that event. This means that you don't put all 12 photos together. If you do, it is hard to know which photos represent which event.
Have fun and be creative!
