Check Your Answers
Once you have completed this activity, check your answers below.
1. What are some natural sources of light you can use at your campsite after the Sun goes down?
- stars
- the Moon
2. What are some artificial sources of light you can use at your campsite?
- flashlight
- fire
3. Will the light used outside your tent be visible when you are inside your tent? Explain.- Yes. The sides of the tent are translucent (they let some light through), so some of the light from the fire, or flashlight will still shine into the tent.
4. When you use light inside your tent, what do you think people who are outside your tent will see? Explain.- People outside the tent will see some light, and maybe shadows cast by the people and other objects in the tent. You, or other things in the tent may block the light leaving the tent, this can cause shadows.
