Plant Community Field Guide
The Government of Alberta Agriculture department has asked you to construct a Field Guide Flyer that describes plants belonging to a plant community in the area where you live. They want people of all ages to construct these Field Guides to ensure that people
of all ages can use and understand them.

Your task is to construct a resource that Alberta Agriculture can provide to the public so that they can learn about plants in their local plant community. You will construct a Field Guide to highlight at least six plants found near your community.

Before beginning your Field Guide Flyer, what information do you think is important to include in your resource? What does the audience (the public, gardeners) need to know about plants in the area? Use the chart in the activity PDF to organize the
information you collect to construct your Field Guide.
- Make sure to use the criteria and rubric below to help ensure that you have finished all parts of the assignment.

You may construct your Field Guide using a Lucid Press Flyer template found here, or
you may choose another program.

When you have completed the Assessment, submit it to your teacher using the "Add submission" button below.
Your Field Guide should include the following criteria:

Highlight at least four plants.

For each plant, describe what it looks like and what it needs to grow. Pictures and/or diagrams can be included.

Describe the plant community in which these plants are found.

Describe what these plants have in common.

Insert a title page with a title and your name.
- Produce a neat, organized, and colourful field guide.
