Nature Picture
When you take a walk outside, you will be much more aware of the waste that you see. Some waste will be natural waste from plants and animals, and some waste will be garbage thrown away by people. For this assessment, you will construct a
picture that shows a natural setting with the waste that you might see.
- Imagine you are going for a walk outside, maybe in your community, or on a trail in the forest, or around a lake. Use these questions to help you construct the setting:
- What kind of natural waste do you see?
- What kind of garbage or litter do you see?
- What evidence of decomposition do you see?
- What kind of decomposers do you see at work?
- Construct a picture of an outdoor setting in a Google Word Doc, such as a forest or a picnic area.
- Check the criteria and rubric below to make sure that you ahve completed the activity.
- Submit your completed work using the "Add submission" button at the bottom of the page.
In your picture,
- Show 5 examples of natural waste and label each example natural waste. For example: apple core – natural waste
- Show 3 examples of human waste and label each example as garbage. For example: chip bag – garbage
- Show 3 different decomposers and label each one decomposer.
- Label the 8 different examples of waste (the natural waste and the garbage from people) as biodegradable or non-biodegradable.
