4.5 Mini-Proyecto - WR Assignment - La Nueva Comunidad
Completion requirements
4.5 - Writing Assignment- La Nueva Comunidad
Instructions:
Your neighbourhood (or one near you) just won a Community Make Over Prize!
There are going to be many new things coming to this community because of a huge donation - and the focus (for once!) is on citizens under the age of 19! You and a group of others your age are sharing your vision about what you would like to have in this new community! What do you want to see in your new neighbourhood?
You will share this vision at a community meeting. Talk about the new things / places that are going to exist in this community if your group is successful in winning this prize.
You also will explain what people have to do in order to make it a reality and to have the celebration to follow.
Imagine that you are going to create a Public Post on your favourite social media page for your new community. (Instagram, Facebook etc) That means you need some great visuals as well as the information.
There are 2 parts to this - the written portion, and some visuals to make this interesting, attractive and creative.
This is a big culminating assignment since you are half way through the course, so it is open to interpretation. You will probably need some help from your teacher along the way before you actually submit for marks - but we are open to all kinds of ideas here. (Just forget about using Google Translate without guidance right now! Keep your sentences simple and basic to reflect your Spanish level, not your high level creative English level - do the sentences in Spanish from the outset - don't write this in English then try to translate!!! ;)
To get help - if you are comfortable with Google docs, create one, and share it to get some feedback along the way. If you would rather email your questions, just put the name of the assignment as the subject line.
Whichever you do โ ask about /highlight specific words and challenging phrases that you have already written/attempted in Spanish, but want some direction on. If you use something like Google Translate like a dictionary, (1 or 2 words at a time), you still need to run these by your teacher in the sentences you've created first.
You will be graded with the usual Written rubric - but there will be an added section out of 10 for the Visual content component.
Summary check list before you submit - do you have everything?
