Transition words are smart words that help a reader move from one idea to the next smoothly. These words often show chronological order. First, to begin with, before, next, second, shortly, third, and finally are examples of transition words.

Chronological Order and Transitions
Chronological order is information that is organized in order of time.For example:
First, Jack and Jill ran up the hill.
Then, Jack fell down and broke his crown.
Finally, Jill came tumbling after.

- Complete the 2-2 Timeline assignment and submit it to your teacher.
Remember to include ten chronological dates and at least five images.

- Download the document Assignment 2-2 Timeline.
- IMPORTANT NOTE: When the download screen opens:
- Click the "Open with" button.
- Select "Adobe Reader".
- Click "OK".
- You will then be able to view the document Assignment 2-2 Timeline.
Save
How to save a file for submission:
- Open the email you have sent yourself.
- Select your Documents folder as the location to Save In.
- Name the document. You will always name your documents in a similar way.
- Use the first letter of your first name, followed by your last name, then an underscore (_), then the name of the file.
- In this case, the file name is 2-2 timeline. For example, if my name is John Smith, I would name my file jsmithla5_2-2-timeline.
- Click Save. Your chart is in your Documents folder.
Submit your file to Moodle:
- Did you save the final draft of your work?
- Did you answer every question?
- Are you submitting all parts and pages of the assignment?
- Submit your completed 2-2 Timeline.
- Click on the Add Submission button to upload your document.
