News Article - Conventions and Final Draft
Before you hand in your final draft of the news article, check the accuracy of your conventions.
Proofreading means to carefully read a final copy of your writing to find and correct errors with grammar, usage, spelling, and punctuation. These are called conventions of writing.

Before you are finished with a piece of writing, you must proofread it.
Proofreading means to carefully read a final copy of your writing to find and correct errors with grammar, usage, spelling, and punctuation. These are called conventions of writing.
Here are some proofreading strategies you could use:
- Read the article out loud.
- Read the article slowly, one sentence at a time.
- Have someone else read your article.
- Check the spelling in your report by reading the article backward

Use this Conventions Checklist to help you create a polished final version of your report.
Make sure to give your news article an exciting headline or title. Make sure to add Kelly Brown as the author under the title.
Save
How to save a file for submission:
- Check the name of your documents. You will always name your documents in a similar way.
- Click Save. Your worksheet and report are in your Documents folder.
Submit your files to the teacher:
- Submit your Assignment 6-3.
- Click on the Add Submission button to upload your documents.
