How to use the Letter Generator
Follow these instructions to use the Letter Generator
- It asks you to fill in the heading. You will need to include your address and the date. Then, click next.
- The Salutation or the greeting is next. Beside Dear, put Malcolm, as that is who you are writing to. Then, click next.
- The body of the letter is next. Decide what you want to reply back to Malcolm. Look at the last letter he wrote to Laura on page 113 of Literacy in Action. Write at least four sentences for the body of your letter. Then, click next.
- The closing is next. Choose an example and type it in the box. Add a comma. Then, click next.
- The next step is the signature. Do not put your own name in. Type Laura's name in the space.
- The last step is the postscript. This means writing a P.S. in letters at the bottom of the page if you forgot to say something in the body of the letter. Choose something you would like to add for Malcolm to read that you did not say in the body and type it in.
When you are finished, click next. You can add a border to the page. When you are done, click next.
You should review your letter and if you need to make changes, go back and make them. It will let you choose to either print, save the letter as a pdf, or email your letter directly to your teacher.
Save the letter so that you can submit it for your teacher so to read. Remember to review the checklist and rubric before you submit it.
