Go back to page 137 of Literacy in Action 4A and carefully study the diagram of the food chain. Go backward from the hawk – who eats the prairie dog – who eats the grass – HOLD IT. If there was no rain, what would happen to the grass?
How would that affect the rest of the food chain?
