8100-ABED_1: Lesson 5 — Activity 1: Assignment

In this assignment, choose three of the following sentences.

Use a coordinate conjunction to combine each of the sentences into one sentence. You may want to think about using pronouns in place of nouns in some of the sentences as well.

The car is black. The car is also red.
I am hungry. I don't want to eat.
Seth Rogen did a voice in the movie Kung Fu Panda 2. Seth Rogen is doing a voice in the movie Kung Fu Panda 3.
I was tired. I went to sleep.
Children need to be taught how to cross a road. Children do not always understand danger.

Now choose three more of the following sentences. Use a subordinate conjunction to combine each of the sentences into one sentence. Once again, you may want to think about using pronouns in place of nouns in some of the sentences as well.

We are looking for good seats. The movie is going to start.
The picnic had to be cancelled. It started to rain heavily.
The friends have to save enough money. The friends want to visit Disneyland.
The little girl is allowed to have dessert. The little girl eats her vegetables.
The father washes the dishes. The mother reads a story to the children.

You may use a computer or paper to complete this assignment.
