In this assignment, you will practise writing concluding sentences.
Read the paragraphs below. Choose three to write concluding sentences for. Remember, a concluding sentence is your chance to express your main idea one more time.
1. My young cousins,
Jake and Les, make me very happy. Every time I see them, they make me
smile, even when I donβt feel like it. They are a lot younger than me
but I enjoy talking and playing with them. We like to go swimming and we
shoot hoops sometimes. My cousins look up to me, so I try to set a good
example. |
2. My dog, Brandi, has
done some pretty naughty things but still I can never get angry at her.
Once she got hold of my Math homework and chewed it up. The teacher did
not believe what had happened! She also destroyed a pair of good running
shoes that I needed for gym. And she doesnβt like my friend, Luke. She
bit his leg the last time he came over to my house. |
3. Queenstown, New
Zealand, is a small town but it has many wonderful attractions for
visitors. There is so much to see and do here. You can go swimming or
sailing in the crystal clear waters of Lake Wakatipu. You can go hiking
in the hills and see breath-taking scenery. You can go white water
rafting in the rugged Skippers Canyon. And when you get hungry,
Queenstown has over 100 mouth watering restaurants to choose from! |
4. Walking is a very
simple but excellent exercise that everyone should try to do. It has
been shown that walking relieves us of a lot of stress. It also helps
people get a good sleep at night. Another great benefit is that walking
exposes us to fresh air and allows us to keep in touch with nature. |
