Lesson 12 — Activity 1: Assignment
Completion requirements
You may use a computer or paper to complete the final draft of your paragraph.
1. You can type your work directly into the assignment box on the next
page by clicking the "add submission" button under the orange box at the
bottom of this page.
2. If you typed your work in a separate Word document, save your document, and either send it to your teacher as an e-mail attachment or print it off and hand it in to your teacher so it can be marked.
3. You can also choose to complete a hand-written assignment on a piece of paper. If so, please hand in your assignment to your teacher so it can be marked.

For this assignment, choose one of the following situations and write a business letter to fulfill one of the following purposes:
1. You are unhappy with the service you received at the local store.
2. You want to thank the person who found your wallet or purse and delivered it to you after you dropped it on your way home.
3. You are asking a local celebrity to speak at your school's grade 9 year-end ceremony.

You may refer once again to the information on letters from the K&E Knowledge and Employability Studio.
Click on the "Write" tab when you are ready to begin.

Write the business letter following the appropriate format. You may type it in a word document or complete it in handwriting.

When you are done, review using the
Self-assessment Rubric for Letters.
- Revise and make any changes to your letter.
- Review your work, by clicking on the
Checklist Items: Read through each item and review your work.
