What are some of the impacts of the pursuit of national self-determination?  This is not a simple question to answer, but history has shown that there are both positive and negative impacts, some of which outweigh the others.  The overall determination to be made is whether the pursuit is worthwhile int the end, and most groups would respond with a definite "yes".
