1. The gap between the world's rich and poor continues to grow. "Malnutrition, AIDS, conflict and illiteracy are a daily reality for millions. But it isn't chance or bad luck that keeps people trapped in this unrelenting poverty. It's man-made factors like a debt burden so great that it suffocates any chance of recovery and insufficient and ineffective aid."

Visit the OXFAM website and scroll through the frontline stories. Choose one that interests you. Select a campaign that you would be interested in participating in. Identify the campaign that you selected (ie: who, what, where...) and describe what you selected to do about it.

2. Human rights violations can provoke ill health or can arise as a consequence of ill health. "Amnesty International campaigns on a whole spectrum of rights associated with health, from opposition to the death penalty and the denial of health care, to the right to safe drinking water and adequate nutrition. There is a role for everyone to play - get involved in our campaigns."

Select a cause from the  Amnesty International site. Identify the Cause that you selected from the website, (ie: who, what, where...) and describe the action that you have chosen to take or what you selected to do about it.

Once you select a topic, you will need to 'choose a language' from the drop down menu.  Then, you can download the full article of your choice.

Evaluation for the 'Take Action Assignment' will be based on the following criteria:
- Identification and Outline of the Cause (who, what, when, where questions should be answered briefly adequately) - /17
- Length - 1/2 page
- Mechanics (correct capitalization, punctuation, spelling, sentence structure, etc.) - /3
