Lesson 1.3.3

Lesson 3 - Petroleum is the Source

Get Focused

In this lesson we will investigate the various products that come from petroleum and the processes by which those products are produced.

Consider the following essential questions as you complete Lesson 3:

  • What is fractional distillation ?
  • What are the products of fractional distillation ?
  • What is hydrocarbon cracking ?
  • What are some products of cracking ?
  • What is polymerization ?
  • What are some products of polymerization
