Lesson 1.1.3

Lesson 3 - Breaking Bonds

Get Focused

It has been said that if you want to make an omelette you have to break some eggs. In the same way if you want to make a new chemical compound, you are going to have to break some bonds. In this lesson we will investigate chemical reactions and the role that chemical bond have in chemical reactions.

Consider the following essential questions as you complete Lesson 3:

  • What are reactants ?
  • What are products ?
  • How do we balance equations ?
