Food in Mexico


Mais - Corn is a very important part of Mexican cuisine. Corn is consumed mostly in tortillas but it is also a necessary ingredient in tamales, atole, and antojitos.

Pan dulce is ideal to eat with hot drinks and it is served during breakfast and during the merienda (snack time).
   
Arroz - Rice is also very important and there are a lot of varieties like white rice, arroz a la mexicana (yellow rice), arroz a la jardinera (rice with vegetables), and served with red or black beans.
