Copyright is the exclusive legal right granted to the creator of an original work to use that work in any way.  Copyright infringement (using someone else's original work), is against the law.

Follow these general copyright protocols.
 

Canada has a Fair Dealing policy that excludes media users from copyright infringement if they meet specific criteria (such as educational use, non-commercial use, limited distribution, etc.). However, for this course, it is preferable that you do not use media under the Fair Dealing exemption. Instead, use copyright-free images, provide attribution for images, or obtain permission to use copyrighted images. 
Pixabay is a community-run database of free-to-use images. Licences vary, but many Pixabay images are listed as Public Domain, which means that you can use them without attribution. Please use all images appropriately.

The aim of Wikimedia Commons is to provide a central repository for public domain material. All the images included in Wikipedia are available automatically here too. Finding images to represent virtually any subject is easy at Wiki Commons, for which everything is offered using a Creative Commons Attribution/Share-Alike.
