Searching for a Job - Introduction
Completion requirements
UNIT 3

Have you been thinking it is time to look for a part-time job? Or maybe you have a part-time job, but you would like to look for a new one.
Where do you start?
First, you need to decide what kind of work you want to do and when you have time to do it. Consider your results in the "My Strengths, Interests, and Abilities" Deep Dive. If you are looking for a part-time job during the school year, then working as a counselor at a summer camp is out. If you enjoy being outdoors, you probably don't want to apply at your local fast food restaurant.
To find out what jobs are available near you, you can look in the newspaper, on job websites, or visit a youth employment office (if you have one in your area).
