Assignment: Money Sense


This unit discussed different aspects of financial literacy. This includes, credit, spending, insurance, wants and needs. You will now create a presentation in a format of your choosing. You can complete the presentation using; Slides, PowerPoint, or as a document using Word or Google Docs. Remember to Share access before submitting, if you create your assignment in Google.


Include the following in your presentation

  • Describe the difference between needs and wants. Give 2 examples of each and thoughtfully explain your choices. 

  • Outline what a chequing and a savings account is.  Which currently works best for you?  Explain your response. 

  • List an advantage and a disadvantage of having a credit card.  

  • Would you recommend a PAYDAY loan? Explain your response. 

  • Do you currently consider a vehicle a need or a want for you? What are 4 costs associated with the purchase and maintenance of a vehicle? Be specific and detailed in your response. 

  • Describe two types of insurance and how they affect you as a teenager.   **The Deep Dive Insurance page lists various types of insurance.  Choose two different types you think are important and explain what the particular insurance covers and why having this coverage is important to you.
