Marking Breakdown
Autograded Assignments
At the end of every lesson, there is an online, auto-graded assignment.  These are open-book assignments with no time limit.  There are 27 of these assignments in all. Collectively, they comprise 30 % of your school-awarded mark. 

Summative Assessments
At the end of every module, there is a summative assessment.  These are open-book assignments. You can download them to your computer or print them out.  If you choose to complete them electronically, you can upload them using the "Add Submission" button.  If you choose to complete them by hand, you will need to scan and upload the pdf using the "Add Submission" button. These assessments will be marked by your teacher. Collectively, they comprise 20 % of your school-awarded mark. 

Autograded Midterm Exam/ Appeal Midterm Exam 
After you have completed the first four modules (units A and B), you will write a supervised online midterm exam worths 15 % of your school-awarded mark.  

Final Exam/Appeal Final Exam
It is important for you to know that there is a supervised online Final Exam at the conclusion of this course. THIS IS IN ADDITION TO THE DIPLOMA EXAM! The mark that you achieve on the Final exam comprises 35% of your school-awarded mark in Chemistry 30.
     

Chemistry 30 Diploma Exam In addition to your  final exam, you must also complete your Chemistry 30 Diploma Exam which is administered by Alberta Education five times a year.
